Report ASB

We want you to live in harmony with your neighbours. Whether you are an Action Housing tenant or you live in an area where we work, we take anti-social behaviour seriously. At Action we work hard within our communities to prevent anti-social behaviour (ASB), however if you do experience ASB, this page has all the information you need to know about what to do – and how to report it.

What is ASB?

What classes as ASB?

Anti-social behaviour is a general term used to describe a whole range of things that people do to upset other people. According to the Crime and Disorder Act 1998, anti-social behaviour is behaviour which causes or is likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress to one or more people who are not in the same household as the perpetrator.

To us, ASB can mean any behaviour which causes a nuisance, annoyance or distress to you or anyone living in, working in or visiting Action property.

Examples of anti-social behaviour include:

What can I do if I’m experiencing anti-social behavior?

What should I do?

The first thing that you can do is to speak to the person that is causing you distress. More often than not, the person causing the problem, may have no idea that their actions are causing distress. Having a calm quick chat with them can often fix the problem right away.

If you’ve already tried this, or you don’t feel comfortable approaching them, you can report it to your Housing Officer.

If you need to report an ASB (Anti-Social Behaviour) issue during our office opening hours please contact our main number 03000 230 800 and your call will be transferred to the relevant housing officer.
