Action takes a person centred approach to working with our customers, offering a broad range of support services, including accommodation and floating support across South Yorkshire and Derbyshire. Customers are an integral part of our service delivery and we actively invite our customers to help shape our services through co-production. Our service received a referral for Beatrice, a female home owner and her 12 year old son. Beatrice had been with her partner for 17 years. She had experienced complex domestic abuse including verbal, emotional and occasionally physical assault during most of her relationship.
Rupert was referred to Platform for Life by the local college due to relationship breakdown with his mum. Rupert has autism and dyslexia and was finding it difficult to live at home with his mum and younger brother. There were constant family arguments which often resulted in the police being called.
Laila is a 33 year old Somali Muslim female who was referred to Action Interim Accommodation by the Homeless Prevention and Support Team. Laila fled Somalia in Sudan due to political persecution whilst her husband and four young children remained in Somalia. Laila is very vulnerable due to her limited understanding of English.
