Around 1 in 4 people in the UK will experience mental health problems this year, meaning that discussions about how to help and support people is extremely important. The welfare and wellbeing of staff is a top priority at Action. That’s why we have got involved with the Time to Change campaign, which promotes mental health awareness in the workplace. Action have joined the ever growing list of UK employers to have signed the Employer Pledge Action Plan, committing ourselves to providing the best possible support for anyone suffering with mental health problems.
We are fully aware that mental health problems cannot be simply solved by signing this pledge, but we hope that this goes some way to showing all of Action’s employees that they have our full support at all times. If you would like to know more about the employer pledge and what it all means, then please Click Here.
Thursday 1st February was a particularly significant day for mental health awareness, as this was time to talk day. This is an awareness day aiming to make people feel more comfortable when opening up about mental health. At Action we encouraged people to talk to each other about mental health, this can be as simple as asking a colleague how they are feeling.
Mental Health is not a new topic of conversation at Action, as we also have a dedicated mental health service in Rotherham, if you would like more information on the type of support that is available then please Click Here.
